Don't panic if your Orbi router or satellite is showing a blinking white light; this is a common problem that can typically be fixed with a few simple actions. Usually, this orbi blinking white light indicates that the device is booting up or attempting to sync, but if it is stuck for an extended period of time, it indicates an issue that requires attention. Here's how to quickly repair:
- Hold on a second.
Your Orbi gadget may be just starting up if the white light is blinking. Give it a minimum of two to three minutes. It is operating correctly if it changes to a solid white, blue, or amber light.
- Turn the device on and off.
Unplug your satellite or Orbi router from the power supply. Plug it back in after waiting for roughly 60 seconds. This frequently fixes short-term issues that keep the light flickering.
- Verify Your Internet Connection
The Orbi occasionally has trouble properly connecting to the modem. Verify that your modem is steady and online. To verify internet access, try plugging a device straight into your modem. You can't use your Orbi correctly if the modem is down.
- If necessary, re-synchronize the satellite.
Press the "Sync" button on the router first, then the satellite, if your Orbi satellite is blinking white. Give them a few minutes to get back in touch. Keep an eye out for the LED to become amber (fair connection) or blue (excellent connection).
- Factory Reset (last option)
Do a factory reset if the white light that blinks continues. Press and hold the reset button on the Orbi's back with a paperclip for approximately ten seconds, or until the LED becomes amber. You'll have to set it up again using the Orbi app or web interface because this will return it to factory defaults.
Make sure your firmware is up to date at all times. When everything is operating normally again, you can check the Orbi app for updates.
